A faith lived in everyday life
Prayer, Franciscan spirituality and charity took shape in family life, work and service to the community.
His early desire for missionary life matured into a Christian vocation lived in marriage, fatherhood and work. He joined the Franciscan Third Order and made simplicity a concrete choice.
The sandals from which the site takes its name were not a picturesque detail but, in the memories of witnesses, an outward sign of poverty and essential living.
His daughters remember prayer in the home, stories from Scripture, devotion to the Eucharist and care for the church. Faith was transmitted through gestures, attention and daily example rather than through ostentation.
For Castagnetti, civic responsibility and Christian conscience were not separate domains. Attention to the vulnerable, reconciliation and pursuit of the common good gave public form to his spiritual life.
